Mudroom - Week 06

Updated: Nov 7, 2019

For the past 6 weeks I've been working on transforming our mudroom as a guest participant in the One Room Challenge and today I'm pleased to reveal the finished product...

In order to appreciate how far this room has come let's take a side by side glance of the room as it is now next to the terror inducing before photos from week 01.

Our mudroom is now a brighter and welcoming space that I'm no longer embarrassed for guests to see! Repairing the door jamb and drywall damage done by our late canine companion got the ball rolling on this project and after the new flooring and paint the room was already starting to look a million times better. We added some organizational functionality with the construction of a mudroom bench and shelf which was accomplished utilizing scrap wood materials in the garage. And then we put the fun in functional with the "shiplap" accent to elevate the design of this bench and shelf nook with some texture and color. The remainder of the transformation was some simple hardware upgrades for the doors, new trim work, and my favorite part - styling and accessorizing.

If you're visiting from the One Room Challenge link-up, thanks for stopping by, if not, click the image link below to check out design inspiration from hundreds of other talented guest participants sharing their reveals.
